Do you ever have a passage or a part of a passage that God keeps bringing to your mind? That was how I felt today. I finally googled it so I could have it word for word in front of me. I am so thankful that God uses the Holy Spirit to speak to us and to comfort us when we are hurting. Here is the passage that kept running through my mind today.
Psalm 18:1-2
"I love you, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."
I love when He does that. I needed to remember that my strength comes from Him. He is my Stronghold, my Salvation, my Rock, my Deliverer, my Fortress, my Shield and my God. These are all powerful words to me. Words that make me feel protected, safe and at ease. I know that God has everything under control. Tonight, I can rest in this passage and know that no matter what is going on around me or in my life that He loves me and has my best interest at heart. I feel like a princess up in a strong, stone castle being guarded, protected and knowing that nothing can touch me unless it passes through His hand alone!
I am thankful today that my strength comes from the source of all strength and power. When I am utterly weak and downcast, He is the"lifter of my head" and He is "setting my feet upon a rock." (Ps. 3:3 & Ps. 40:2)
As I go to bed tonight I am singing a song I learned as a little girl. As an adult I have come to understand what it means and how singing it throughout the day is a HUGE help to me.
"The joy of the Lord is my strength.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
Oh the joy of the Lord is my strength."
Praying this is a sweet reminder to you today to rest in Him and know He if fully able to care for your life. Let Him be your strength and the Lord of your life.
