It had been a long day. I went to my room to read my Bible and try to refocus as I waited for my husband to come home. I opened up the book of Proverbs to read some of my favorite passages when my son came in the room. Today he learned to cut out hearts by folding the paper in half and he thought that was so neat. He had a gift for me and put them on the pages I was reading. It was just what my heart needed. Love. I needed to remember to love. I needed to be reminded that God loves me. He put them down and walked away as he said, "Mama, God loves you." God loves me despite my flawed, sinful self. He loves me when no one else does. He is Love.
God used my little boy to encourage my heart today. Sometimes we just need to remember how much we are loved. I think it helps us to also love others better. I need God's help and strength each day to love as I should. I'm sure you do too.
Here is one of the verses on the page that I was reading as the hearts were placed on my bible. God is just so good.
"A glad heart makes a cheerful face, but by sorrow of heart the spirit is crushed." Proverbs 15:13
Be encouraged today. Open your Bible and let God's perfect word speak to your heart.

God is so good to us. I’m so glad He prompted your son to give you some of God’s love.
