I love using ground turkey in our menu, but I didn't always.   We used a lot of ground beef in our house, but I'm trying to give ground turkey more of a presence in the menu.  The key, in my humble opinion, is seasonings.  This dish will not disappoint if you are a ground turkey lover.  The wonderful thing about this for Trim Healthy Mamas is that it's a Fuel Pull! Jackpot! You can eat about 5 meatballs and stay in Fuel Pull range just fine.  You could eat more in an S or E setting.  The ticket to which way this dish goes is by what you pair with it.  I'll give you some ideas in a bit. As I picture here, I think these are great appetizers for a party too with some Hip Trim Honey Mustard (page 412) tastyturkey Ingredients: 20 oz 99% fat-free ground turkey 3 Tbs egg whites (use a whole egg if you do an S version) 2 Tbs unsweetened almond milk or cashew milk 2 Tbs rolled oats, crushed 2 Tbs grated Parmesan cheese (green can type) 1 Tbs prepared mustard, (Dijon is best) 1 Tbs parsley, crushed 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp onion powder 1 tsp chili powder (or Smoked Paprika) 1 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper Instructions: Mix together until combined. Use 1" cookie scoop and place on a lightly greased baking pan. Bake at 400* for 18 minutes. This made 20 meatballs. turkey 5 Turkey Meatballs to keep is a Fuel Pull.  More for an E or S setting. Fuel Pull ideas: Roasted veggies would be a great choice!  Eat the meatballs on a salad with some lighter dressing. Soup!  Turkey meatballs are great in a lighter soup.  Chicken or turkey stock(lean), veggies, and some meatballs.  Yum!  Those are just a few ideas to start with. Energizing ideas: Sweet potatoes are my favorite E side.  Dice them up and bake them or bake one whole in the oven.  You could eat the meatballs with a side of brown rice or quinoa.  I flavor mine by cooking my rice or quinoa in rich chicken stock (low fat) and add some diced veggies. Satisfying Ideas: Loaded Spaghetti Squash Casserole, Cauliflower casserole, Fakertot Casserole, green beans, broccoli, zucchini or one of your favorite non-starchy veggies.  A nice salad with ranch dressing would work too!  In an S setting you could use beef to make the meatballs as well.  I ate mine with some Hip Trim Honey Mustard(page 412) and Jalapeno Poppers! (coming soon) You could also eat them with some spaghetti squash and pasta sauce. (or Dreamfield's pasta)

I hope you like these as much we I do!  They were a winner at my house. A versatile meat dish is a home run in my book!  If I can use it in any Fuel setting for THM, I'm a happy girl. Pin: Tasty Turkey Meatballs Come join me on Facebook: A Home With Purpose- Jen Griffin

I’m sorry Sue, I have no idea. I don’t count calories.

Where do you find your 99% fat free turkey? The ones I see in the store seem to have a higher fat content.

    • godzgaljen@gmail.com

Here’s the one I find. 🙂 Jennie O has one! If you get turkey with more fat and you want to use it in an E or FP setting, just cook it and then rinse it in super hot water. It will help drain off the rest of the fat. I’d think if you find 96% or so that you’d be fine as well. Here’s the one I find…https://www.jennieo.com/products/3-extra-lean-ground-turkey-breast

I’m really curious as to what the dip is that’s pictured with your meatballs. Would you mind sharing?

Sure! Thats is THM’s Trim Honey Mustard recipe. 🙂

About how many carbs are in 5 meatballs? I was going to have spaghetti squash and some marinara but want to keep in FP. Thanks!

Turkey burgers were on the menu for dinner tonight, but my recipe wasn’t THM-approved. I used this recipe and it was phenomenal! Thanks
