God Bless you Jennifer on your journey. I am on that same journey, and I have learned to take one day at a time, sometimes one meal at a time. I have been struggling for months to lose this last 10 pounds which will put me at 100 pounds, then I have 13 pounds to my goal. I feel as you do, the longer it takes the more you are learning. Keep up the good work.
Barb
Thanks, Barb!! You are getting close!!
Thanks for posting your progress. I love it! I found you through a link on the THM fb group. 7 years ago I lost 80 pounds (starting at just over 200 lbs). I know how wonderful it feels to shed that extra weight! I have a pair of pants like yours that I keep as a reminder of where I’ve come from. Pick up a 60 pound bag of something (cement? dogfood?) and show yourself how much extra weight you were carrying but are not any more! I have recently gained about 15 pounds back after keeping off the 80 pounds for 7 years. I found the Trim Healthy Mama and am a month into it. I have not lost anything- boo! But I like how you write about yours being a slow loss at times. I know the extra will come off for me if I am faithful to the plan! Thanks again for posting your progress- be proud!
Thanks, Amy!! Losing weight is not for the faint at heart! I know the program will work for you if you stick with it!! Glad you stopped in!
Jennifer, you bless me. Your attitude, your spirit is so lovely and inspiring! Your beauty is not only outward! I wish we were in the same hometown. I feel we would be “kindred spirits”. Love you, keep trusting “the author and finisher of our faith.” (I look forward to your future progress posts!)
Nancy, that was so sweet and kind!! I’m glad you found me on here!
Wow, what an encouragement! Thanks for sharing your journey. I’ve been doing the plan (with way too many “cheats”) since May. Lost 22 pounds so far…with 34 left to go. :-/ About a pound a week is my slow and steady average. It helps though that now my Mother-in-Law and Sister are eating the THM way. 🙂
Thank you, Jen! I’m glad I could encourage you today!
I could have written this post myself! I came through the THM link up- I agree this is the longest I have ever stuck with a new way of eating, because I can eat DESSERT (and dessert that tastes good too!) and yummy fat too! I have lost 40 lbs and have 20 left to go and it’s been slow with a lot of stalling out for me too. But I am learning a lot about myself and how much I have let food be an idol, I am so thankful to feel like food isn’t controlling my life anymore! AND I got to run races with my kids the other day- I could never have done that 40 lbs. ago! So I’m so thankful THM gave me that as well!
Carolyn, I’m glad you found my post! Idol is a good word to use when it comes to food. I know it certainly was one for me and still can be. Congrats on your 40!!
Thank you for sharing your story. I have over 100 to lose. It’s helpful to hear success stories.
You can do it Laura!!! I have about 90 more to go!
Jennifer, WAY TO GO!!!!!!!!!! Virtual high five! 🙂
Thanks for linking your success at Trim Healthy Tuesday! 🙂 🙂
Thank, Stacy!! HIgh five!
I just started following your blog. I am a follower of Christ. I have a wonderful husband and 5 beautiful kids but I just can’t seem to get my act together in the area of food. I have failed so many times before that I am defeated before I even try. I am about the same size as what you were when you started. Thank-you for writing this blog…it has greatly encouraged me. I’m not sure when I will start officially….however, I do think this is what I will do when I finally find the courage to jump in. I must say that by reading other posts on face book etc. I feel like I will have to purchase all these special ingredients and I’m not sure our budget can do this. I’m saving my extra little money to purchase the book and then I’ll go from there. Thanks again for your encouragement.
Lyn, I’m so glad you found me!! Praying for you as you begin your journey. To learn more about mine read my 50 lb loss story as well. I talked about the myriad of diets I’d been on, etc. I may email you later! 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your journey. I really needed the reminder that going slow is good. I stared thm at 32 weeks pregnant in July 2014. Since starting, I’ve lost 36lbs. At this point I’ve kinda stalled, so here I go, slowly. ;0)
